Chuck is a 40 plus year Alaskan that has spent his career in the Home Building Industry. His academic foundation began in California at San Joaquin Delta College in Construction Technology and concluded in Alaska qualifying as a Registered General Contractor in 1974. Since that time Chuck has spent his time building custom and speculative housing, additionally he has acted as a Mechanical Contractor since 1976. Chuck is the current Executive Director of and has served on the Board of Directors of the Alaska Craftsman Home Program for many years. He also serves on the board of Directors of the Cold Climate Housing Research Center located in Fairbanks. He has worked as an Energy Rater and a Building Inspector since those programs were initiated in Alaska. Chuck also performs consulting on housing issues related to energy efficiency as well as moisture issues and ventilation. As an instructor for The Alaska Craftsman Home program, Chuck conducts workshops for energy efficient home building, retrofit and ice damming. Chuck has spent several years building and remodeling homes utilizing energy efficient improvements in all his work. Recently Chuck has become an advocate for the installation of Ground source heat pump systems in individual residential homes.
